Nimrod’s 21st Annual Bull Bash -

Hold onto your “cowboy” hats as you prepare yourself for sights you may have never seen before! Everything from kids riding sheep, to horses navigating the barrels with precision and even cowboys strapping in, attempting to stay on a bull for eight whole seconds - this is going to blow your mind!

When and where does all of this go down? I present to you, Nimrod’s 21st Annual Labor Day Bull Bash! Located on County Road 12 in Sebeka, MN, you can see many different rodeo-related events and fun entertainment - September 1st to the 3rd.

Saturday and Sunday starting at 1pm, you kick the day off with broncos. At 2pm you get a double-header with a bull race and rookie bull riding. It’s at 3pm when the barrel racing and double barrels kick it up a notch. Followed by those events, the kiddos have a chance to try sheep riding at 4pm. All three days you’ll be able to watch mini bull riding at 5:30pm, ending your night with bull riding at 7pm. At the conclusion, attend different live music performances hosted by local artists!

To honor and recognize those who put their time and energy into coordinating these events so the Bull Bash continues year after year; We introduce to you Troy & Peggy Meech (and their family), Matt Palmer, Josh Garrick, Tanner Zarnetski, Ely Sharkley, Jeremy Munts, the sponsors, and most importantly... All of you! The community’s attendance and support ensures this event continues on year after year.

Troy Meech started riding bulls at the young age of 13 and continued to ride for the next 20 years. He had such a passion for bull riding that he took it upon himself to buy a farm down the road from his homestead. Along with that, he purchased rodeo bulls and built an arena to share this passion with family and friends. Every year the Meech family makes it their goal to create a weekend full of fun for everyone who comes from near and far to watch.

Matt Palmer is the official rodeo announcer from Koshkonong, Missouri. He keeps everyone on the edge of their seats as he describes the events, the contestants, and the stats of the rides throughout the whole weekend. Palmer has been sharing his talent of announcing across the United States for almost 20 years.

Josh Garrick, also known as “Porkchop” or the “Biggest Little Man in Pro Rodeo”, is the official rodeo entertainer from Malvern, Arkansas. “Porkchop” currently travels all over the United States bringing high energy shows and unique comedy that is sure to leave fans in stitches and having fun, no matter their age.

There are three bullfighters or “cowboy protectors” in the arena at all times – Tanner Zarnetski, Ely Sharkley and Jeremy Munts. Their job is to distract the bull after the rider has been bucked off or dismounted upon the conclusion of their successful eight-second ride. Along with entertaining the crowd with their spectacular maneuvers, they never lose sight of the main job at hand - protecting the riders!
