6 Advertising's Box Wine Tasting -

Sometimes you have to step outside of the box, or rather… into it. Wine tasting doesn’t have to end at your local winery. Are you a wine enthusiast looking for a new and exciting way to indulge in your passion? Look no further than an at-home boxed wine tasting! This unique experience allows you to explore the world of wine from the comfort of your own home. Gather your friends or family, set up a cozy ambiance, and get ready for a night filled with delicious wines and great company. With a variety of wines to choose from, you can create your own custom tasting menu, allowing you to discover new flavors and expand your palate. Whether you prefer reds or whites, there is something for everyone to enjoy during an at-home wine tasting.

The lack of wineries in the area had us really thinking about how to bring the vineyard experience to us. 10 boxes of various wines, some of our favorite people, and a few hours to spare - an at-home boxed wine tasting was just the thing we needed to shake up the ordinary day-to-day. Nothing tops a fun night in with your friends… except one that includes wine!

We found a good selection of boxed wines at Westside Liquor of Baxter. With a variety of wines to sample, we decided to have a little fun with it and rank them from 1-5, 5 being the best. Our average ratings were:

Game Box Pinot Grigio - 1 (floral notes with a nutty coffee aroma and a long finish)

Top Box Chardonnay - 3.2 (rich caramel notes with a smooth finish)

Nighthawk Gold Buttery Chardonnay - 1.6 (strong buttery flavor intensity)

Bota Box Riesling - 4 (rich with a smooth finish)

Provisions Sauvignon Blanc - 3.1 (zesty and balanced with a smooth finish)

Barefoot Sunset Red Blend - 3.75 (light body and lively)

Bota Box Merlot - 3.6 (balanced full body)

Big House Zinfandel - 2 (bold with a medium to full body)

Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon - 4 (robust with a smooth finish)

Pure Red Organic Red - 1.75 (round and lively)

It was no surprise that everyone had their own palate, favoring their wine of choice. But, we did all conclude that some were just not for us. Game Box Pinot Grigio being one of them. Simply put, we all agreed that it tasted bad. On a more positive note, everyone was fond of the Black Box Cabernet Sauvignon and the Bota Box Riesling. There were plenty more options to choose from, with an entire aisle of boxed wines at Westside Liquor.

Pairing the wines with some hors d'oeuvres is a great way to cleanse the palate during your tasting. You could arrange a charcuterie board with a variety of cheese, meat, crackers, olives, fruit, nuts, and chocolate. If you don’t know how to make your choices for that, there are a lot of great ideas on Pinterest. I recommend doing a little bit of research on what charcuterie ingredients go best with the wines you’ve selected. That way, everything pairs nicely and you’re not left with a weird taste in your mouth.

Not only is at home wine tasting a fun and educational experience, but it also provides an opportunity for bonding with loved ones. Gather your friends or family members and embark on this tasting adventure together. Share your thoughts and opinions on each wine, engage in lively discussions, and create lasting memories. It's a chance to connect on a deeper level while enjoying one of life's greatest pleasures – wine! So why not take a break from the usual routine and host an at-home boxed wine tasting? It's an exciting experience that will leave you craving more. Cheers to discovering new wines and creating unforgettable memories in the comfort of your own home!
