Side by Side Rental -
You’ve seen them everywhere and never done it. Maybe even told yourself, “I can’t afford one.” These riders always seem to have smiles, which sparks your curiosity and you wonder what it’s like to ride in what’s called a Side by Side. If you don’t want to jump the gun and buy one - rent one! You will see the hidden beauty that has always surrounded you. So buckle up buttercup, today we ride!
With the wind in your face as you cruise the dirt trails, it’s the scenery around you while driving the Side by Side that makes you ask, “How could this get any better?” Some people say you haven’t lived until you drive an ATV/UTV… I tend to agree with that assessment! The Brainerd Lakes area is not only known for its lakes, but also its multiple ATV/UTV trails right in our backyards! If you don’t have access to your own Side by Side, there are places in town where you can rent one and take them to the trails of your choice.
One of those places in town offering rentals is Power Lodge - a Polaris Bennington dealership located on Hwy371 north, by BIR. How do you rent said Side by Side(s)? If you go to the Power Lodge website www.powerlodgebrainerd.com and click on adventure rentals, you can pick a date and select the UTV you like. There’s 3 different Polaris Side by Sides to choose from: the General XP 1000, Ranger XP 1000, or a NorthStar Edition Ranger 1000. Bring the family or friends along, with the options to pick seating capacity - ranging from a 2 to 6 person rental. The pick up location for the rental is located in Outing, MN and is a convenient location for you if planning on riding the very popular Emily/Outing trails. They consist of 56 miles of adventurous trails accessible for both beginner riders and those with experience.
Within these trails you may encounter a variety of different elements; from your typical dirt trails, to the softer sands, and watch out - you might run into a little mud! It’s up to you if you want to endure the mud. Be fully prepared to not be as clean when you leave, as you were when you first arrived. Which should be expected… that is the fun part of the riding experience! I was once told, “if you don’t come back dirtier than you came, then you didn’t do it right!” So don’t be afraid to get down and dirty!
It’s a fun experience for all, exploring the area while taking in the last days of summer! So take a day (or maybe the whole weekend), rent a side by side or bring your own, and enjoy the excitement. There is truly nothing like riding down an open trail!
